Debating

between starting The Dark Tower series or A Song of Ice and Fire. Both would be pretty big time commitments, and I’m sure I’ll get to both of them, but I’m having a very difficult time deciding between the two. Hm.

  3. bashaliora said: both are really amazing, but read asoiaf first! if you love the show, you’ll love the books far more.

  6. snuffahufflepuffugus said: I’m currently reading the second book in A Song of Ice and Fire and I’m in love with them. I tried the Dark Tower series (I’m a HUGE Stephen King fan) and had a lot of difficulty getting through the first one. I hear they’re better after that, though
  7. isthisfacetiousenough said: Dark Tower series is a faster read. More books, but they’re all shorter. Good story. ASOIF is HUGE, and it is one of those series that you either love or hate. I love it, my boyfriend couldn’t get into it. At the very least, you could watch the show.
  8. itsallaboutthemusic said: The Dark Tower! It is to amazing. You won’t regret it.

  11. oneething said: A Song Of Ice And Fire. I’ve read the Dark Tower series, and while individually the books are great, I wasn’t as attached to those characters as I am to the ones in ASOIF. Plus, the last Dark Tower book really disappointed me and I haven’t forgiven it yet
  12. delacroix said: It pains me to say it because I’m such a King fan, but I enjoy A Song of Ice and Fire so much more.
  13. coloroutsidethelines said: THE DARK TOWER SERIES. Admittedly, I’m only half way through, but it’s fantastic so far.
  14. bearfox said: Dark Tower series. Most amazing character development and sensory language.
  15. dirtandglitter said: I wasn’t as enthralled with Dark Tower and felt that ASoIAF really breathed. I felt very strong emotions for the characters where as with Dark Tower it was more of a “oh. that’s what happens. ok. moving along” feeling. Either are good choices though.
